How We Clean & Recolour Leather

All the processes are carried out by hand so that your leather is treated gently and with care from start to finish.

Identify the leather

There are many types of leathers and finishes, so the hide is identified first to ensure the correct selection of compatible eco friendly products.

Deep clean by hand

The piece is deep cleaned entirely by hand so that your valuable leather suite or car seat is treated gently and with care.

Condition the hide

The leather is then conditioned to replenish the oils in the hide before any recolouring or repair work begins.

Recolour and seal

Eco friendly pigments restore the colour, then a hard wearing sealer and protection finish is applied for a longer lasting result.

Premature colour loss can sometimes occur due to the failure of the protective sealer coat that was applied by the leather producer. Leathermend are able to re-colour & then apply a hard wearing sealer to give a longer lasting solution.
